Very popular shows and movies also have an obvious impact on the names that find favor with new parents. Witness how Jacob and Bella have become so popular after the resounding success of the Twilight Series.

It isn’t just actors and other performing artists and reality show stars that affect what is trending among   baby names. British royalty also tends to affect what names become more popular especially with the royal wedding last year. So Will, Harry, Kate and even Pippa have risen in popularity.
